Who We Are
Knoebels Amusement Resort is America’s largest free-admission amusement park and offers free parking, free entertainment and free picnic facilities. While at the park, you can take a dip in its 900,000 gallon Crystal Pool. You can stay overnight at one of two campgrounds or one of our cottages.
In addition to over 60 rides, award winning food, swimming, games, and gift shops, guests can add a round of golf at Knoebels Three Ponds Golf Course.

Knoebels was founded in 1926 by Henry Hartman Knoebel. Family members of the 3rd, 4th, & 5th generations are actively involved in the business.

Our History
In 1828, the story of Knoebels Amusement Resort kicked off with Reverend Hartman Henry Knoebel acquiring “Peggy’s Farm” in central Pennsylvania. Passing it down to his grandson, Henry, the family business flourished into a bustling lumber enterprise. Henry’s entrepreneurial spirit didn’t stop there – he found a niche by offering horse care services along the popular Roaring Creek for just 25¢.
Adding to the excitement, he unveiled the Crystal Pool and introduced Knoebels in 1926, complete with a cozy restaurant and charming carousel. Families soon fell in love with the natural beauty, setting up camp and cottages along the creek. By 1963, Knoebels expanded its offerings with campsites, now boasting over 550, and in 1996, acquired Lake Glory Campground.
Today, the fourth generation of the Knoebel family continues the tradition, keeping the spirit alive with free admission, entertainment, and parking on 45 acres of fun-filled landscape. With over 100 rides and attractions, Knoebels honors its rich heritage while providing timeless enjoyment for all.

From wooden coasters to homemade chicken & waffles, the simple joys of Knoebels have kept families coming back year after year, and the awards have followed. What began as a local swimming hole has grown into a nationally recognized, award-winning amusement park. We’re honored to be celebrated by voters from USA Today’s 10Best, Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Awards, and the National Amusement Park Historical Association.

For the Halloween season, Knoebels gets its ghoul on with fall-inspired menu items, bewitching decorations and spell-binding live entertainment. Get on dozens of rides and play your favorite games for some frightful fun for the whole family!
Joy Through the Grove
Ho-ho-ho! Hop in your car and come visit Knoebels for our drive-through Christmas light experience! Our 2 miles of holiday cheer takes you down a winding path dazzled with twinkling lights, 500 illuminated pieces and several custom Knoebels-themed displays. You’ll begin your merry journey near the Impulse roller coaster to see the park and much of the campground in a whole new light!
