We have equipment. How do we get it to the performance location?
If a vehicle needs to be taken to the bandshell to offload equipment, that vehicle must arrive to do so and be back out to the parking lot two hours prior to park open. For example, if the park opens at 12pm, the vehicle must be back out to the parking lot by 10am. If the vehicle is parked at the bandshell for the day, it may be unable to move again until the park has been cleared of guests, generally 1.5 to 2 hours after close. Parking next to the stage will not always be an option based on the parking needs of paid entertainment.
As an alternative, groups can schedule with the entertainment manager to have equipment carted to and from the bandshell using Knoebels golf carts if the equipment is small enough to be moved in that manner.
We need _____ for our performance, can you provide that?
Knoebels currently only provides folding chairs if needed. The stage has plenty of outlets for electrical needs and a drum riser that can be added to or removed from the stage as needed.
Groups are required to provide their own sound and other specialty equipment such as exercise matts, instruments, etc… that may be needed to perform.
When/where will we perform?
Most performances are held between main acts at the Hawaiian Bandshell stage or held on one of the very few days that a main act is not on the stage. On occasion, a different performance location can be chosen, such as the open space near the Alamo Restaurant where the Knoebels Brass Band performs. This can be discussed with the entertainment manager during booking.
Do you give any discounts to community groups that are performing?
A small amount of ride tickets can be given only for those individuals who are performing, the manager/choreographer/teacher(s), as well as chaperones if the performing group is made up of children. (generally with a limit of one chaperone to 20 children), or a discount can be given on wristbands for the same. Tickets/discounts are not given for the family of performers if they choose to attend.
Do you pay for community performances?
At this time, the park does not pay for community performances. Similarly, we do not directly charge to use the bandshell stage either.
When should I reach out to get booked?
The deadline to set up a date to perform in a given season at the park is the last day of February of the same year you wish to perform. If contacting after February, it is at the entertainment manager’s discretion with consideration of availability of open dates/times and his/her time to work with you whether or not scheduling will be postponed to the following year.
I want to bring my group to Knoebels to perform, who do I talk to?
You’ll speak with the entertainment manager:
Mitch Roshannon | [email protected] | 570-672-2572 ext. 781
